Dr. Athanasios Rentizelas
Short CV
Dr. Athanasios Rentizelas holds a PhD on optimization of the logistics of biomass from the National Technical University of Athens (2007), an MSc in Operations Management from the Manchester School of Management of UMIST (2002), and a Mechanical Engineering Diploma (Bachelor plus MSc equivalent) from the National Technical University of Athens (2001)
He is currently affiliated with the sector of Industrial Management and Operational Research of the National Technical University of Athens. He is supporting the Energy Logistics Unit (ELU) of the Industrial Engineering Laboratory. He is also Lecturer at the Business Administration department of the University of Pireaus and teaching at the School of Technical Training of the Technical Corps.
His research interests span in the following areas:
- Operations Research: focus on OR methods and their applications on enterprise environment, scheduling in manufacturing and services, and energy generation.
- Supply Chain Management: modeling, simulation and optimization of supply chains. Focus on energy logistics and reverse logistics.
- Energy market & RES: Main focus on emissions trading, energy market operation and new energy applications such as trigeneration and district heating/cooling. Renewable Energy Sources with main emphasis on biomass.
